H.E.A.T. Hostile Environment Awareness Training
(+ SPECIAL INSTITUTION)

Training description

The target group for this training is personnel selected to be deployed on low / medium / high risk field visits or recently deployed on such visits. These deployments can last anywhere from a week to two years.

All staff should have taken a general introductory course in crisis management operations (eBASE and eSAFE, for example) or have relevant experience in international field operations.

    Course content

    UNIT 1 : PERSONAL SECURITY AWARENESS
    • Awareness of risk situations
    • Identification of potential hazards
    • Adopt a preventive behavior
    UNIT 2 : FIRST AID
    • Putting into practice and theoretical courses in first aid with different cases
    UNIT 3 : COMMUNICATION AND NAVIGATION TOOLS
    • Processing of the most commonly used communication tools
    UNIT 4 : IED, UXO, MINES, WEAPON AWARENESS
    • Understand the different types of weapons
    • In-depth knowledge of the field
    UNIT 5 : HOSTAGE SITUATIONS
    • Measures to be taken in the event of different hostage-taking
    • Knowledge of phases
    UNIT 6 : INCIDENT RESPONSE TRAINING
    • Conflict management
    • Techniques in case of aggression
